We had a very good evening last night at Carradale village hall with a good turnout of local people. The evening was presented in conjunction with the Rainforest Alliance.

The evening began with a showing of the wonderful film “Why Not Scotland?”, a documentary film investigating the way other countries are both re-wilding their areas and living with nature and asking the question ‘why not Scotland?’.

Following the film Sarah from the Rainforest Alliance gave a very informative presentation on the Rainforest Alliance aims and intentions and why these wonderful temperate rainforests should be preserved and enhanced.

There then followed Shorewatch presentations by the three arms of the Kintyre Coastal Network with Andy giving an oversight of the Beach Cleaning methodology we use and Jackie presenting our achievements with communities and local schools and our aims for the future.

Phil then gave a talk on the seagrass project, where we are with it currently and our aims for the next year, finally bringing the evenings talks together.

The evening was rounded off with a lovely spread of food created by Jane and Kirsty along with wine and soft drinks where attendees could have informal chats with the members of the two groups.
