We held a beach clean at Machrihanish Bay involving two organisers and nine volunteers. The weather was reasonably kind to us fortunately.
A portion of the beach was formally surveyed with each piece of litter itemised, recorded and fed into the Marine Conservation Society database.
A total of 13 bags of litter were collected with a total weight of 86.5kg. Included in this were two creels and large lengths of rope along with the, unfortunately, usual amounts f plastic and plastic fragments.
All those who took part felt a sense of worthwhile achievement and a huge thanks go to all those lovely people who helped.

Some of our faithful litter pickers, still smiling.
